Le 15 novembre, mon organisation d’accueil, le Centre Régional Information Jeunesse Centre-Val de Loire a fêté une occasion spéciale : l’inauguration de ses locaux ! Pour moi et les autres volontaires au CRIJ cela a signifié une semaine de travail extraordinaire et dans un autre rythme. J’ai passé plusieurs après-midi par terre à dessiner des affiches et des panneaux pour l’accueil des invités, j’ai acheté des feutres et j’ai appris comment dire « Bienvenue » en lituanien : « Sveiki Atvyke » !
Pendant la soirée, nous étions sept volontaires internationaux pour faire l’accueil et pour animer l’activité artistique « dessinez-nous le CRIJ ». Puis nous avons profité du buffet et dansé pendant le concert de la chanteuse française Ivaanyh. Tous ensemble, nous avons passé une belle soirée d’interculturalité !
Après, j’ai repris ma propre mission en animant un atelier titré « être bénévole ou volontaire en France ou à l’étranger » et en informant un groupe de 26 jeunes sur toutes les possibilités de partir à l’étranger. La semaine prochaine je vais me déplacer beaucoup dans la région: à Issoudun, à Chartres, à La Châtre et même à Paris. J’aime beaucoup que ma mission au CRIJ m’offre autant de responsabilités et autant de changements.
Egalement, il y a eu du changement dans ma vie quotidienne, apporté par mon copain qui m’a rendu visite pendant quelques jours. Je lui ai fait découvrir Orléans: la cathédrale, la maison de Jeanne d’Arc (qui est omniprésente dans la ville), l’hôtel Groslot, le parc floral et un ami nous a même emmenés pour visiter les moulins du Loiret. Ensemble, mon copain et moi, nous avons aussi visité Paris et le château de Chambord, c’était magnifique.
En outre, ma perspective sur Orléans s’est aussi développée : comme j’ai enfin acheté un vélo, j’adopte moins souvent celle de piéton et plus souvent celle de cycliste. Cela me permet de parcourir des distances plus vite, de me sentir plus autonome, de découvrir la nature entourant Orléans et surtout (clin d’œil) de faire mes courses chez Lidl, une chaine de supermarché allemande où je me sens -bizarrement- un peu plus comme chez moi.

A life in movement
On the 15th of November my host organisation, the « Centre Régional Information Jeunesse Centre Val de Loire » has celebrated a special occasion: the inauguration of its working premises! For me and the other volunteers at the CRIJ this involved an extraordinary week of work passed in an other rythm. I spent several afternoons on the floor drawing posters and signs for the reception of the guests, I went shopping for felt tip pens and I’ve learned how to say « Welcome » in lithuanian. « Sveiki Atvyke » ! During the evening we were seven international volunteers in total to welcome the guests in our mothertongues and to moderate an artistic activity called « Draw the CRIJ for us ». Then, we enjoyed both the buffet and dancing to the music of the french singer Ivaanyh. All together we spent a lovely intercultural evening.
Afterwards, I resumed working on my own mission and proposed a workshop called » being volunteer in France or abroad ». Additionally, I informed a group of 26 about all the possibilities of going to another country. In the following week, I will travel a lot for work: to la Châtre, to Chartres, to Issoudun and even to Paris. I am so glad that my mission at the CRIJ offers me this level of responsablilty and change.
In my personal life I have also recently encountered some change that was introduced by my boyfriend who came to visit for some days. I showed him Orléans: the cathedral, the house of Joan of Arc (who is omnipresent in the city), the hotel Groslot, the botanic gardens and a friend even picked us up in his car to visits the mills of the Loiret river. Together my boyfriend and I also visited Paris and the great castle of Chambord which was amazing.
Apart from that, my perspective on Orléans has also develloped. As I’ve finally bought a bike, I more seldomly adopt that of a pedestrian and more often that of a cyclist. This enables me to be more autonomous, quicker, to discover the nature surrounding Orléans and most importantly (wink) to do my shopping at lidl a German supermarket chain where I -strangely- feel a little more at home…
