Saison 1 - Hassane

It’s been two and a half months since I was in France as part of my International Civic Service mission within Centraider in the Center-Val de Loire Region. My main mission being the promotion of the Civic Service in Region Centre-Val de Loire, I had to meet a lot of actors (the President of the regional council and his vice-presidents, mayors, the diplomatic advisor, the presidents and members of associations … ), which motivated me again.

I attended the forums and workshops that are part of my mission as the 17th meeting of international cooperation in the Centre-Val de Loire region on the SDGs, the workshop on how to set up an international solidarity project. Added to this are the courses on interculturality, education for citizenship and international solidarity, not to mention training on the PSC1.

I started my mission well which allowed me to learn a lot already. The 15th of November was a very special day because it was the inauguration of the house of CRIJ, where we participated as international volunteers in welcoming people in our native languages. I really enjoyed the performance of the artist Ivaanyh who was invited for this celebration. As is the tradition in France, every end of November, they organize a big festival on solidarity. Thus, I had the chance to participate in some various events of the FESTISOL which began on 17/11/2017 and ended on 03/12/2017 in all the regions of France. Several themes were discussed which allowed us to give testimonials not only about our missions but also about what is happening in our different countries especially on the environmental and food level. I made my first intervention in Saint Joseph’s high school in Vendôme in front of the students of the two last years before baccalaureat exams. It was a joy for me to bring the message to these young people. I am really determined to accomplish my mission well and I think that after 8 months I will get there.

Concerning my daily life, everything goes well only that the winter is announced and it is too cold. With other volunteer friends like me, we do all the shopping and I do not have too much worry about food because there are African stores which sell all African products.

Recently my parents and friends miss me a lot. I really want to stay under tree with my friends which is not obvious here in Europe.

I have had a lot of knowledge here in France and I think that all my French friends are nice and I thank them very much.
