Nous sommes maintenant \u00e0 la fin du mois de novembre et le temps passe vite. C’est la troisi\u00e8me fois de ma vie que je vis \u00e0 l’\u00e9tranger. Curieusement, la France, qui est l’endroit le plus similaire au Portugal o\u00f9 j’ai jamais v\u00e9cu, semble \u00eatre le plus difficile pour s\u2019adapter. Les difficult\u00e9s font partie du voyage, mais j’esp\u00e8re qu’\u00e0 la fin, je r\u00e9aliserai que tous les obstacles en valaient la peine.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dans ma vie quotidienne ici en France, j’ai beaucoup de temps libre, que j’utilise normalement pour me promener et d\u00e9couvrir, petit \u00e0 petit, la ville de Tours et ses environs. C’est une ville pleine d’\u00e9tudiants. Derni\u00e8rement, j’ai d\u00e9couvert la magie des march\u00e9s de No\u00ebl en France. Il y a toujours de la musique pour remonter le moral des gens, des chataignes chaudes et du vin chaud pour \u00ab\u00a0faire chaud au Coeur et au corps\u00a0\u00bb. La premi\u00e8re fois que j’ai visit\u00e9 le March\u00e9 de No\u00ebl, j’\u00e9tais avec un couple portugais (M. Adriano et son \u00e9pouse qui font tous deux partie du Comit\u00e9 de Jumelage entre la ville de La Riche – o\u00f9 je fais mon Service Civique International sur le th\u00e8me de l’interculturalit\u00e9 et du vivre ensemble – et Estarreja, au Portugal). Nous avons fait le tour du march\u00e9 de No\u00ebl avec ma colocataire, Ouma\u00efma, qui vient du Maroc. Ce fut une belle soir\u00e9e : je me suis sentie reconnaissante d’avoir eu l’occasion d’\u00eatre ici et de vivre cette exp\u00e9rience.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le fait de me d\u00e9placer et de vivre \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger m’a fait r\u00e9aliser que les choses qui rendent nos exp\u00e9riences plus significatives sont les gens que nous rencontrons et les gens avec qui nous partageons nos vies. C’est un peu \u00e0 cause de cela que j’ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de devenir volontaire. Je voulais aider les gens. Je le fais toujours. J’esp\u00e8re pouvoir garder dans ma m\u00e9moire et dans mon c\u0153ur tous les gens que je croise. M\u00eame si je pense que c’est ma mission d’aider les autres, quoi que je fasse, je finis toujours par me retrouver aid\u00e9e moi aussi.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dans l’ensemble, le d\u00e9but de ma mission n’a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 des plus faciles. J’ai rencontr\u00e9 de nombreuses difficult\u00e9s, la plus importante \u00e9tant la langue (mon fran\u00e7ais n’est pas encore le meilleur !) et j’ai d\u00fb faire face \u00e0 des situations impr\u00e9vues. Cependant, je choisis de me concentrer sur les aspects positifs. J’esp\u00e8re que mon travail au Centre Social et au March\u00e9 de No\u00ebl de La Riche et tous les projets \u00e0 venir auront un impact positif sur les autres. Et, \u00e0 cette fin, je ferai de mon mieux. C’est comme le disent les Fran\u00e7ais : tout ce dont j’ai besoin, c’est du \u00ab\u00a0bon courage\u00a0\u00bb !<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bon Courage\u00a0!<\/span><\/h3>\n

It is now the end of November and time moves fast. It\u2019s the third time in my life that I live abroad. Curiously, France, which is the most similar place to Portugal I have ever lived in, it seems to be the most difficult to adapt to. Difficulties are part of the journey but I hope that, in the end, I will realize that all obstacles were worth wile.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During my everyday life here in France I have a lot of free time, which I normally use to walk around and discover, little by little, the city of Tours and its surroundings. It\u2019s a city full of students. Lately, I have discovered the magic of the Christmas Markets in France. There are always music cheering people up, warm chataignes and hot wine to \u201cfait chaud au Coeur et au corps\u201d. The first time I visited the Christmas Market I was with a Portuguese couple (Mr. Adriano and his wife are both part of the Comit\u00e9 de Jumelage between la ville da La Riche – where I am doing my Service Civique Internationnel inside the topic of interculturality and vivre ensemble – and Estarreja, in Portugal). We have walked around the Christmas market with my housemate, Oumaima, who comes from Morocco. It was a lovely evening: it left me feeling grateful for the opportunity of being here and having this experience.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Moving around made me realize that the things which make our experiences more significant are the people we meet and the people we share our lives with. It is, in a way, because of that, that I decided to be a volunteer. I wanted to help people. I still do. I hope I can keep in my memory and in my heart all the people I cross paths with. Even though I think that it is my mission to help others, no matter what I do, I always end up finding myself being helped too.<\/span><\/p>\n

All in all, the beginning of my mission has not been the easiest one. I have encountered many difficulties, the biggest one being the language (my French is still not the best!) and I have had to deal with unexpected situations. However, I choose to focus on the positive sides. I hope my work at the Centre Social and the Christmas Market at La Riche and all the projects to come will have a positive impact on others. And, to that end, I will try my best. It\u2019s like the French say: all I need is \u201cbon courage\u201d!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
